My method of getting dressed for an event (any event) mystifies and, if he's being honest, horrifies my very tidy and very logical husband. I try on every "nice" piece (anything that doesn't need ironing) in various combinations, leaving items strewn across the floor as I reject them for any number of admittedly illogical reasons. It's a painful process. I'm always going for the pretty-but-effortless look but getting there can be anything but.
