I was very excited when I found out the book was part of a reissued series originally written in the 1960s by Prague-born author and illustrator M. Sasek (read more about him here). Each book explores a different famous city, highlighting the customs, history, art, and architecture that make it great. For large, high-quality books, the price is really low: between $12 and $18 each.
I love when I find a children's book I enjoy reading as much as Max and that introduces him to the world beyond our standard ten mile radius of existence. Whenever he picks out an M. Sasek book for bedtime (instead of Noisy Trucks or Dino Dig for the ten thousandth time), I'm the one who doesn't want the story to end.
